Beauty in Life
Opening my eyes to the beauty in life is not enough. My mind and heart need to be open, as well.
Once this is posted, I will be knee-deep in Spring Break Madness. Craziness will indeed be taking place, as my family of 5 spend some much-needed quality time together.
Morning. Noon. And night. All of us. Together.
Normally, I would be moaning and groaning. Spouting off the typical parenting woes that we all experience. I am sarcastic by nature, so that is easy for me. It helps relieve my stress.
Then I read a quote from Maya Angelou and decided to take a different approach.
Maya Angelou made me realize that I need to be present during this time. I need to open my mind, eyes and heart. Find the beauty in the memories that will be made. Accept the gift of laughter, along with the upsets. (And I guarantee there will be upsets.)
This is a necessary part of my life. This is necessary to be true to myself.
My family is my beauty. My miracle. I plan to enjoy every crazy second of Spring Break 2015. Every single beautiful second.

Melissa,
Thank you! So far so good – the family seems to be liking each other more and more. 🙂

I remember I live-blogged one spring break. It was so much fun to not only experience, but really focus on what I wanted to take from those moments to remember. I just went back and read it. And laughed. Oh, to have little kiddos again!
